February is late for my first show of the year but the Metalcore Dropouts 2nd Semester Tour definitely proved worth the wait. I caught their stop in Myrtle Beach at the House of Blues this past week featuring performances from Avoid, Counterparts, The Devil Wears Prada, and Fit For A King. The night was filled with high-energy performances and incredible mosh pits that left the crowd wanting more.
The night started with Avoid, a band that came out with so much energy that the crowd was immediately hooked. They played a set that was a perfect blend of catchy hooks, driving rhythms, and intense breakdowns that had everyone jumping around and moshing. Many of the first-time listeners left the show a fan after witnessing their incredible stage presence. They had a way of connecting with the crowd and it was the perfect way to set the stage for a night of moshing and metalcore.
Next up was Counterparts, who brought an intense energy to the stage. Their set was filled with heavy riffs, thunderous drumming, and powerful vocals that had the crowd moshing and headbanging along. They always give such a raw performance, creating a sense of vulnerability and camaraderie that made the experience all the more memorable.
The Devil Wears Prada took the stage to a frenzy of fans who had eagerly awaited their performance. As a veteran band, they have a loyal fan base that has been with them since the beginning, and they also continue to attract new fans who are discovering their music 20 years later. During their set, they talked about their appreciation for their fans and thanked them for their continued support. They played a high-energy set that included some of their classic songs as well as some newer ones, leaving the crowd absolutely thrilled and cheering for more. The atmosphere was electric, and the mosh pits were wild as the band delivered a performance that won’t soon be forgotten.
Finally, Fit For A King closed out the show with a bang. Their set was filled with heavy riffs and guttural screams that had the crowd going wild. The band’s stage presence was incredible, and they interacted with the crowd throughout their set, making for an unforgettable experience. Overall, the Metalcore Dropouts 2nd Semester Tour was an incredible night of music and moshing. Each band brought their own unique energy to the stage, and the crowd responded with non-stop mosh pits and headbanging. If you get a chance to see any of these bands live, I highly recommend it.
