I had the pleasure of attending The Creative Control Tour at the Coca-Cola Roxy in Atlanta, and it was an absolutely incredible experience. The tour stop featured performances from four amazing bands – DeathbyRomy, Don Broco, The Used, and Pierce the Veil – and each one brought their own unique style and energy to the stage.
DeathbyRomy started the night off strong with their own unique blend of dark pop and eerie melodies. Their performance was hauntingly beautiful, and the crowd was captivated from start to finish.
Next up was Don Broco, and they did not disappoint. Their high-energy set had the entire crowd jumping and singing along to every word. They really know how to get a crowd hyped up! Their music is a unique blend of rock, pop, and metal, and they have a reputation for putting on an amazing live show. Don Broco formed in Bedford, England in 2008 and have released four studio albums to date including their latest album Amazing Things.
The Used took the stage next, and it was clear that they have a devoted fan base in Atlanta. The crowd went wild as they played some of their most iconic songs like “The Taste of Ink” and “Buried Myself Alive.” Their performance was raw and emotional, and it was clear that they put everything they had into it. The Used is an American rock band that formed in Orem, Utah in 2001. Mental health has been a major focus of their music and advocacy efforts. Lead singer Bert McCracken has been open about his struggles with mental illness and addiction, and has used the band’s platform to encourage fans to seek help and support. Their latest album, Toxic Positivity explores themes of emotional turmoil and the importance of self-care and mental wellness.
Finally, Pierce the Veil closed out the night with a bang. Their set was a perfect mix of old favorites like “King for A Day” and new hits like “Emergency Contact”, and the crowd sang along to every song. Their energy was contagious, and it was impossible not to get caught up in the excitement. Pierce The Veil is an American post-hardcore band that was formed in San Diego, California in 2006. The band consists of four members: Vic Fuentes, Mike Fuentes, Tony Perry, and Jaime Preciado, and is known for their high-energy live performances, which often include acrobatics and crowd interaction. The band has a strong commitment to their fans, and they proved it by bringing up a fan battling cancer to perform the iconic song “Hold On Till May,” which concluded with Vic presenting her with his guitar.
Overall, the Creative Control Tour stop in Atlanta was a night to remember. Each band brought something unique to the table, and the crowd was left wanting more. If you get the chance to catch this tour in another city, I highly recommend it!
