Glass Animals @ Red Rocks Amphitheatre

Glass Animals Tour of Earth Lands @ Red Rocks

Glass Animals continued their 2-night stint at Red Rocks Amphitheatre September 4th, with special guest Eyedress.

Eyedress, an alternative rapper out of the Phillipines, took the stage first with quite a few talented backing musicians. Things started off a little slow, with the crowd vibing to the mellow synth music, but Eyedress showed a lot of range during his set, keeping the crowd enthused as it started to rain.

With a backdrop of consoles and monitors resembling a spaceship, Glass Animals took the stage before a hyped crowd, opening their set with “Life Itself,” a fantastic song from the band’s 2016 album How To Be A Human Being. Lead singer Dave Bayley was a ball of energy, darting across the stage and engaging with the crowd from the start.

“I love a show in the rain!” he exclaimed with a huge smile, continuing the music with “Your Love (Déjà Vu)” and “Wonderful Nothing.” Fans did not let the rain bother them at all, continuing to dance to songs such as “Space Ghost Coast to Coast,” and current single “A Tear In Space (Airlock),” from new album I Love You So F-ing Much.

The highlight of the night was definitely Bayely coming into the crowd to sing “Gooey,” the beloved track that launched Glass Animals’ career. “I think this is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen in my life,” he noted, to thunderous applause. “I love Red Rocks!”

“Creatures in Heaven,” “On the Run” and “Show Pony” were great songs from the new album, while old favorites “Take a Slice” and “Pork Soda” kept the crowd going as it started raining even harder and got quite chilly.

The band was not about to skip out on an encore, with fan favorites “Tokyo Drifting,” and of course, the incredible “Heat Waves.”
