You may remember Flickerstick as the band that won VH1’s series Bands on the Run way back in 2001. The band released the acclaimed Welcoming Home the Astronauts, featuring the single “Smile” that same year, and its follow up, Tarantula, in 2004, along with two subsequent live albums, Causing a Catastrophe-Live and Live in Atlanta.
After calling it quits in 2009, the band re-formed after fans voiced their desires to see them live again and release new music. In 2022, Flickerstick delivered with a reunion show “Just One Night” in Dallas, TX, which sold out in a matter of hours, a new single called “Shine On,” and a promise to keep making music.
This week, the band has released “Your Heart is a Fortress,” which sounds like classic Flickerstick-sweeping, emotional music and a slow build- behind Brandin Lea’s incredible vocals. The psychadelic video is the perfect visual for the cinematic new song. Listen to “Your Heart is a Fortress” below!
