Mac Sabbath at The Loft in Atlanta 4/26/25

The world’s first (and only!) Drive Thru Metal band returned to Atlanta for an evening of humor, classic rock, and cautionary tale of the perils of fast food. Slayer MacCheeze, Grimalice, the Catburglar, and non other than Ronald Osbourne himself are known for their faithful covers of Black Sabbath hits, with a twist: the lyrics are entirely food related.  Touring in celebration of its tenth anniversary, the band played all the hits, including “Pair-a-Buns” (“Paranoid”), “Sweet Beef” (“Sweet Leaf”), and of course, “More Ribs” (“War Pigs”).

Before closing out the site, frontclown Osbourne told the tale of the band’s, shall we say beef, with rival metal band Iron Maidennys, who we are almost entirely certain is not a real band. Whatever the beef was, it must have been resolved, because Osbourne was gracious enough to perform a tribute to the metal giants in the form of one of their greatest hits, “The Grouper” (“The Trooper”). The Drive Thru Metal pioneers closed out their roughly 90 minute set with a greatest hit of their own, “Frying Pan” (“Iron Man”).

Mac Sabbath continue their ten year anniversary tour of the East Coast through May. To see if they’re coming to your city and to purchase tickets, check out www.officialmacsabbath.com.
