Manchaster based alternative rockers What Will Be have just dropped their latest single “Slow Down”. The track is a moving song encapsulating the battle against illness, hindering the ability to engage in cherished family and social events. This emotive, melodic rock song narrates the isolation and frustration accompanying health challenges, resonating with those who’ve faced similar trials. The lyrics convey the deep yearning to be present for loved ones despite physical constraints. Yet, “Slow Down“ is a beacon of hope, emphasizing inner strength and the vital role of friends and family support. Musically, it’s a soul-stirring song with a gradual intensity mirroring the emotional journey. This song is a source of solace, underscoring human resilience and the power of love during life’s tempests.
“Slow Down” was self recorded, mixed and produced by the band. Writing the track came easy to the band, but recording the song proved to be a bit more difficult. “It was a blast writing and recording this single. We started writing it in early 2023, but then disaster struck when we lost our old studio (building bought to be turned into apartments!). We had to move to a new building and build a whole new studio, right in the middle of recording and mixing!” says the band. “It turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as the new studio is much better acoustically and meant James could really dive into the mixing and mastering with aplomb.”
“Slow Down” is currently playing across all digital streaming platforms. Check out the song now on Spotify below:
