Devin Townsend Project at Baltimore Soundstage

Lions, and tigers, and poozers, oh my!

The first time I was given the honor of photographing a show, from the pit, with a legitimate photo pass, was last September at The Fillmore Silver Spring for the co-headlining duo of the Devin Townsend Project (DTP) and Between The Buried And Me.  So when I heard that DTP would be coming to Baltimore Soundstage on November 30, I immediately felt drawn to document this show.  Delivering a smattering of offerings covering the newest release, Transcendence, all the way back to Ocean Machine: Biomech, fans were fed treat after treat.  Devin’s ability to skate across the spectrum of heavy to light, all with a healthy dose of self-deprecation, led to a wonderful night of heavy metal comradery.  Here are our shots of that evening.

Transcending the Coma Tour – The Fillmore, Silver Spring, MD

Better B# - TAM Logo 2
On Tuesday, September 13, the Transcending The Coma tour swept through The Fillmore in Silver Spring, Maryland.  Starring the stellar line-up of The Devin Townsend Project and Between The Buried And Me, not to mention San Francisco’s very own Fallujah, fans were at once both awed and overjoyed by the performances laid forth. Fallujah presented a brutal opening act, while BTBAM stunned the audience with the hour-plus re-enactment of their new album, “Coma Ecliptic.”  The Devin Townsend Project closed the night with a combination of heaviness and humor, resulting in uproars of laughter and applause.  Hopefully you have a chance to catch them on one of their remaining North American performances, outlined here.

Below are some shots from that faithful show.
