Photos and Live Review: The Plot In You @ Music Farm

For a Sunday Night at the Music Farm in Charleston, SC the energy was electric, and the crowd was buzzing with excitement. The lineup featured some of the best up-and-coming bands in the scene, including The Plot In You, Holding Absence, Thornhill, and Banks Arcade.

First up was Banks Arcade, and they really set the tone for the night with their high-energy performance. Their catchy melodies and infectious beats had the crowd dancing and singing along from the very first song. They’re a self-proclaimed heavy metal boy band hailing from Australia, and they’ve been making waves in the music scene with their unique sound and high-energy performances. They played some of their most popular tracks including, “Be Someone” from their latest album Future Lovers.

Thornhill was up next, and they brought a more heavy and intense vibe to the show. Their music draws on a range of influences including metal, rock, and alternative music, creating a one-of-a-kind style. What sets Thornhill apart from other bands is their ability to craft lyrics that are deeply meaningful and thought-provoking. Their heavy riffs and pounding drums had the mosh pit going wild during “Where We Got To Die” off their latest album The Dark Pool, and the energy in the room was incredible.

Hailing from Cardiff, Wales, Holding Absence took the stage next, and they did not disappoint. Their music is a unique blend of post-hardcore, emo, and melodic rock. The band’s ability to create a visceral energy that resonates with the crowd is unmatched. Their music, coupled with their poignant lyrics, creates an unforgettable experience; most notably in their song “Afterlife” from their album The Greatest Mistake of My Life which was released in 2021.

Finally, The Plot In You closed out the night with an absolutely epic set.  The Plot In You is an American metalcore band hailing from Findlay, Ohio. The band was formed in 2010 by vocalist Landon Tewers, guitarist Josh Childress, bassist Ethan Yoder, and drummer Mathis Arnell. They have since released five studio albums, including their most recent album release, “Swan Song,” which debuted in 2020. Their music is known for its heavy instrumentation and emotional lyrics, often exploring themes such as relationships, mental health, and personal struggles. The band has gained a dedicated fanbase over the years. Despite their success, The Plot In You remains grounded and committed to creating honest and impactful music. Their unique blend of metalcore and post-hardcore had the crowd completely captivated, and their passionate performance left everyone wanting more.

All in all, it was an incredible night of music and energy that won’t be forgotten anytime soon. If you missed this show, you definitely missed out!
