Pittsburgh, PA hard rock band Victoria Fire has recently dropped their debut single. The track, “Fire” is a hard-driving modern rock track with blazing riffs and soaring vocals, courtesy of vocalist and frontwoman Kaitlyn Washko.
Lyrically, the track was derived from Kaitlyn’s personal struggle with depression. “The song is about being in a state of shame and darkness, but ultimately battling through and finding the light,” explains Kaitlyn. “The moment you feel like yourself again is like nothing else, and once I made it through I truly felt like I was on fire and capable of accomplishing anything.”
Along with serving as the debut calling card for the band, “Fire” is also the lead single and the beginning of an EP rollout for an as-yet-to-be-named 6-track debut EP announced later this year. The EP is being recorded, mixed, and produced by Lee Causo Jr, features Dan Moore on drums, Sid Riggs on drum production, and is being mastered by Mike Fitz.
Victoria Fire has also dropped a firey music video to accompany the single. The video was directed by Keith Kelly of Nexus Sound Studio. “Shooting the video for ‘Fire’ was an incredible experience,” says guitarist Andy Oddo. “Keith Kelly and his team at Nexus Sound Studio were amazing to work with. Keith immediately picked up on our vision for the video and really hit it out of the park. We had pointed out how this was our debut to the world and we needed to capture the right vibe, and he definitely delivered on that for us.”
“Fire” is now available across all major streaming platforms. Listen now on Spotify or watch the video on YouTube below.
Victoria Fire is a female-fronted alternative hard rock band from Pittsburgh, PA. The band strives to deliver a varietal sound, blending delicate vocals with fiery screams and riff-focused instrumentals. Founding members Kaitlyn Washko (Vocals) and Andy Oddo (Guitar) crossed paths in late 2018 and found that they had a shared vision for a new project. After eventually rounding out the lineup with Oddo’s long-time bandmate Cory Schuster on bass and Dan Moore (former member) on drums, the pieces were in place.
The band quickly started writing material and playing shows all over their hometown of Pittsburgh. Victoria Fire has since shared the stage with national acts such as Elisium, 3 Years Hollow, Madame Mayhem, Actor/Observer, Convey, and Fame on Fire. The band has been working hard in the studio, putting the final touches on their debut EP, and will be announcing the EP title and release date in late 2022. The debut single and music video for their song “FIRE” was released on August 26th, 2022, giving fans a glimpse of what they can expect from Victoria Fire going forward.
