On August 10 and 11, Taylor Swift brought the Reputation Stadium Tour 2018 to the Mercedes Benz Stadium.
These two performances marked the first time a performer has played two consecutive nights at the Mercedes Benz Stadium since it opened just under a year ago, in August of 2017. Opening the shows on the tour are Charli XCX and Camila Cabello.
The stadium was filled to the top with fans clad with remote controlled light-up wrist bands that synced up with Swift’s performance. The devices turned the massive crowd into a working part of the show… essentially creating what appeared to be a living breathing field of stars.
Swift’s set started with the perfectly picked “Ready for It?” which led into “I did Something Bad,” and “Gorgeous” off of her 2017 release, Reputation. Throughout the rest of the evening she sang, danced and played the guitar and piano through most of Reputation, leaving “So it Goes” to play over the closing credits and blooper reel.
Older hits included “Bad Blood / Should’ve Said No,” and “Style / Love Story / You Belong With Me” mashups, “Shake it Off,” and “Blank Space.”
Trying to describe the monumental achievement that Swift’s team has accomplished with the Reputation Stadium Tour would be a nearly impossible trick to pull off. Fortunately, TAMagazine photographer Chuck Holloway was on hand to capture the evening.
