October is the busiest and most entertaining month out of the year for myself and many of my friends. This year, I kicked the month off with a big ole punk rock boot by seeing and Blondie at The Buckhead Theatre on the 1st West coast X and East coast Blondie came together to show the world that age ain’t nothin‘ but a number.

X’s original lineup was intact. There is no way one could replicate any member of that band anyway. Excene with her shy hair in the face vulnerability, Billy Zoom with his wonderfully creepy smile, John Doe still made the ladies swoon and DJ Bonebreak looked and sounded cool as the fedora on his head.

I could close my eyes and feel transported back to Los Angeles, circa 1977 when the band first started, thanks to a classic song list and epoch sound. The band played with a tightness that can only come from repetition. Yet they were still having fun, exchanging inside looks to one another and smiling their way through the set.
