Finding Neverland is a Metalcore band based out of Colorado Springs, Colo.o, with Heath Weaver on vocals, Luke Weaver on guitar, Justice Sutton on guitar, Chris Arnold on bass and Tyler Rice on drums.

Finding Neverland has gained a lot of traction in Colorado Springs and developed a steady and dedicated following. Guitarist Luke Weaver couldn’t be happier about the fans.

“Our whole goal is to love everyone and to reach them through our music which is for Jesus Christ,” he says. “Even our band name Finding Neverland is another term for finding Heaven.”

Although the band is currently working on new music with its new drummer, Tyler Rice, the band’s first EP is available for purchase on iTunes.

If you like August Burns Red, As I Lay Dying, Oh Sleeper, The Devil Wears Prada and For Today, you will not be disappointed because Finding Neverland is heavily influenced by those bands.

For an unsigned band with little funding, its EP sounds polished, mostly because listeners can completely make out Heath Weaver’s screaming. Highlights included the “Heart of a Diamond” intro, which sounds like the beginning of a produced Paramore song which almost tricks fanin a good way.

“Robert Pirate Island” is a good song with a hell of a breakdown.

Even though Finding Neverland hasn’t broken into the mainstream yet, the band is surprisingly dedicated to making music and being there for its fans.

“We keep up with this fan that said our band helped her from committing suicide,” Weaver says. “I don’t ever want to be that band that just makes music for the money and fame. We want to reach people.”

The band plays with Sound the Ruin Friday, July 11, 2014, at the Black Sheep in Colorado Springs.
